Stargate Atlantis

I wasn't particularly sold on Stargate Atlantis when Skiffy first started advertising it toward the end of season 7 of SG-1. But I found as season 8 of SG-1 began, to my horror and dismay as a diehard SG-1 fan, I was actually anticipating watching Atlantis more than I was enjoying SG-1. While I still enjoy SG-1 enormously, I am far and away an Atlantis fan.

Dr. Rodney McKay is my favorite character. Love the snark. Love the smarts. Love the fallability.

Stargate SG-1

While I have gone over to the dark side, I still love SG-1. And let me be clear. I love SG-1 with Jack, and without him. I miss RDA, but I was so relieved to see him moving on and doing what he's so obviously wanted to do for years.

I love the Daniel and Jack banter and I'll miss it dreadfully but the chance is always there, slim as it may be, that he'll come back. At least they've left the door open...

Pathetic, I know, but Daniel's my favorite. Again, the whole smarts thing, though MS is just too cute for his own good. I mean the man is SCARY cute!

Other fandoms

Unfortunately for me, or then again, maybe it was a good thing, but I didn't discover Farscape until well after all the rhubarb about Skiffy cancelling them after four years but well before the whole 'Ben Browder can't take Richard Dean Anderson's place' tiff. *rolls eyes* Farscape is an incredible, fabulous, wonderful adventure. I hope someday they even manage to pull off a feature film, like this next lovely little show...

Another show I stumbled across with excellent timing was Firefly, which I discovered through a friends behest the summer before Serenity was due to come out. Didn't take me long to fall head over heels with Joss Whedon's motley assortment of characters. I've been tempted to delve into the fanfic world, but quite honestly I don't think anybody even comes close to what Joss Whedon can do. And after having seen the movie, I'm even more impressed than ever, if only slightly heartbroken at the demise of my favorite character. *sobs brokenly*
